Our Food Philosophy
Our goal is to ensure that every eating experience is both memorable and flavourful, with consistent and excellent quality.
Our Chef Team is focused on offering the best taste experience across a range of food options. We offer quality Pub Classics at the centre of this dining experience, but with a selection of non-classic dishes catering to lovers of lighter or more creative dining options.
Our Pies are made onsite daily using over 14 typical flavour ingredients. Our signature Pork Ribs (Spring, Summer & Autumn) are cooked for a minimum of 10-12 hours.
We vary our menu seasonally. Although our Classics are on the menu all year, we indeed vary flavour profiles, sauces and vegetables/sides with the seasons to ensure variety and freshness.
We offer family-friendly and offer light options. We cater to families and over the lunch hour offer lighter and budged-oriented options such as Toasties, Soups and Salads.

This pub offers the best food in Bath with excellent service. I went with Hubby and Daughter. We all had different dishes. The food was hot, so very tasty, beautifully presented and we didn’t have to wait long either. Good size portions without being over the top. Attentive, pleasant, smiling staff. We can’t praise it highly enough. A little more expensive than the average pub meal but worth every penny.

We went here on the off-chance and as it had been recommended elsewhere. Lovely clean pub, great dining area and friendly staff. The menu had a good choice and the food we ordered was delicious. One of us had the 12oz fillet steak and said it was the best steak they had had in years. Will definitely go back when in the area again.
A memorable celebration
Held my birthday lunch for 20 women at the H and A yesterday, and was delighted by the welcome,the quality and quantity of the food, willingness and charm of Lucy the landlady, and Greg the waiter, who could not have done more for us. Because it was a beautiful day, we were able to have our lunch outside, and this was arranged cheerfully. Thankyou to the team at the Hope and Anchor for a memorable occasion.
